Xbox 360 may possibly get a Blue Ray Drive

Xbox 360 may possibly get a Blue Ray Drive:

The Financial times has brought upon us the story that the Microsoft’s Xbox 360 may be getting Blue ray technology. Though this would be big for X-Box 360, it would also be big for Sony’s Play station 3. Partly because Sony would have to come together with some kind of financial agreement with Microsoft to even allow Microsoft to use Blue Ray. Big move for Microsoft to even consider doing this with their arch gaming rival Sony, but I don’t blame Microsoft for it. I don’t blame Microsoft for doing this because they don’t have much of a choice; just about a month ago Toshiba announced they are no longer Producing HD-DVD’s. They Stopped altogether because with companies like Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Netflix, and circuit City. HD DVD is just not what’s big anymore. But note that For the time being Microsoft has not said anything about getting a drive, They are still in negotiations with Sony.

Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 Preview Xbox 360

Release Date: March 11 2008

The All new Rainbow Six game is scheduled to come out in March of this year and I only think you can go up from here with the series, after the last one was such a huge success.

One big new change for the game is that the player will no longer play as main character Logan Keller.  They will instead create their own character in which you will be able to use throughout the campaign storyline.  In the game the player plays as Bishop a new recruit that quickly rises through the ranks making him a lead operative. The game’s overall storyline will be a continuation of the last game (Rainbow Six: Vegas) and will also be sort of a prequel to the Logan Keller Storyline. (So its two stories in one) Also a new feature in this game will enable the player to customize their character with points from both single player mode and Multiplayer mode this new feature is called Persistent Elite Creation System.

There will also be a new system for stat tracking, this new system will look and observe how the gamer plays and based on how you play you will get weapon and equipment rewards.  Like for instance if you play like Rambo you may get an array of machine guns and equipment like grenades, Or if you’re a conservative sniper kind of guy or girl you may unlock new kinds of snipers or camouflage.

Also there is an unofficial list of new things in the game such as; 11 new weapons, 2 new Game modes, 13 multiplayer maps, and a new refined ranking system.  Also you will now be able to join online multiplayer matches that are actually in progress.

Also the co-op mode has changed a bit in this game.  Now instead of having 4 player co op mode it will only be two player characters, but the Computer agents will stay and be able to receive commands from player one.  Another good thing that is meant to improve this game is that the A.I is greatly being improved for your team.  So now they will cover you better and participate a little more in the action, along with receiving your commands a little better.

Another new thing is the cover system it’s very much similar to the last game but now you will be able to shoot through certain cover along with being able to be shot through cover, or blown up.

Last but not least there is a new system called the Advanced Combat Enhancement and Specialization system.  Every kill you get will be put into 1 of 3 categories; Marksmanship, Close Combat, and assault.  You will get different rewards for each type of kill you get.  You may get a new type of rifle for doing a lot of Marksmanship kills, and you might get a new assault rifle for doing a lot of assault kills.

So when this game comes out it will be interesting to see how it goes both as a new game and as a comparison to the last game.

Splinter Cell Double Agent Ending/ Splinter Cell Conviction Preview: X-Box 360

Splinter Cell Double Agent Ending/Splinter Cell: Conviction Preview X-Box 360

Release Date: First Quarter 2008

From the first Splinter Cell game people have simply loved Sam Fisher, and his great array of stealth, Gadgets, and skills. In his last mission (Splinter Cell Double Agent)Fisher took on the biggest challenge of his life as he embarked on a journey to infiltrate the Terrorist group called the JBA (John Browns Army) which practiced armed force to change the Government. During This mission the possible death of Irving Lambert made Sam begin to realize that this mission may not end as well as he planned it would. Towards the end of the game Enrica Villablanca his newly found love was killed by a Splinter Cell op, Enrica then died in Sam’s arms, and out of fierce anger and frustration he did not contact Third Echelon, and when third echelon sent a operative to see what happened to him They found that The operative was killed with a wound to the neck and they felt that Sam did it.

Splinter Cell: Conviction Preview X-Box 360
Around 2 years after the events of Double Agent Fisher returns to Third Echelon just to find that things are not what they used to be, in fact Third Echelon has run into political problems that are keeping them from striking out to do what they used to do so well. So Fisher decides that he must strike out on his own after he’s finds out that Anna Grimsdottir and a few other former people he worked with is in danger. So fisher strikes out to find out what is going on.

This game will bring a completely new feel to the Splinter Cell Series; there is no more using the darkness, and hiding in the shadows all the time. Now fisher will journey out in broad Daylight using crowds and benches, and anything he can find to escape pursuit from the police, and keep himself on his mission. Also though not important Fisher looks completely different in this game looking more like a hobo due to lack of a shave and likely improper hygiene.

Also Sam will have a new arrangement of hand to hand specialist combat skills; such as punches, kicks, and even throwing your enemy. Also not too much is known about if he can use a gun or pick up weapons but I guess we will all wait to find out. Another note is that this game is going to be using the heavily modified Unreal engine 2.5, There not using the Unreal engine 3.0 likely because of technical problems with making sandbox game where you can go all over the city (note that Gears of War and Rainbow Six Vegas both used unreal Engine 3.0 and they are two of the best looking games on 360, but splinter cell should look great as well even without it)

So in conclusion Splinter Cell Conviction will be released sometime early this year and we will all see how things play out for the one and only Sam Fisher.
